rarely seen a thing
so enticing to
murder

watch the poachers
words are running away
surely first they've ever lost
the first loss i’ve ever had
and it’s impossible to tell
where it came from
or where its going

i press my brain on the paper
giggle as the juices fill in the tracks
i know everything about the tracks
I know the size of this beast
by what size shoes they wear

following the tracks
i fall right into the
hands of the poacher
and i realize i'm still prey
no matter how long they anger
how long i gleefully starve
