Did you hear my true words?

my truest words were never from my mouth.
They came from my breath and my touch and
my gaze — Eyes are a portal to one’s mind,
so I drowned mine in adoration.
Yours blaze right through though, to a dying flame.
Keep your ears close to my lips,
and hope to hear my faithful words.

take one look into who you think I am
and beg yourself to understand what is inside:

I kept my box of frustrations far away from you,
even after your years of endless forage.
I played our record far too many times–
till the caress of my love did not captivate.
You knew which hand to hold and where to kiss,
but your heart ached to feel achievement
and I was a body you already accomplished.

you’ve swam too far to guess where my mind drifts.
from a distance I still wonder if you would care;
do you mind the bond you managed to sever?
I consider the value in declaring your mistakes,
just so I could see that flicker of light one last time.

unspoken words present in scars,
and you’ve already introduced me to mine.
you always wanted to scream, so tell me:
Does my bitter attitude please you?
you demanded something to shout about,
so let me loathe from my kingdom,
and tempt you with the aim of my gun.

blast your brains?
Or keep your godforsaken mind.
